Alan completed his periodontal training in Boston University and was a recipient of the Morris Ruben Scholarship for excellence in Periodontology.

During his residency, he had 3 publications for his research project. Prior to this, Alan had been in private practice in both Sydney and Singapore for 6 years. Alan is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is currently a clinical instructor at Westmead Dental Hospital for the dental students.
