A Dental Hygienist works to help you maintain your dentition, gums and supporting bone in the best possible condition.

As an integral part of specialist treatment with The Dental Specialists, many patients attend our in-house Dental Hygienist for a one-off or series of thorough oral hygiene treatments. A ‘deep clean’ by our Hygienist involves removing the calculus (tartar) and stains from your teeth, above and below your gums, to ensure that your gum tissue is healthy.

Our Dental Hygienist is trained to teach you how best to keep your teeth, gums and any dental prosthesis clean and healthy. As well as providing oral hygiene instruction, our Dental Hygienist helps evaluate the ongoing health of your gums and teeth; scales and cleans your teeth and implants; obtains records such as radiographs; gives dietary advice; and can help you if you have sensitive teeth or even bad breath.

The Hygienist works in conjunction with our Specialists or your usual dentist.
